Boston Scientific Corporation, a US based medical technology firm, appointed Warren Wang as the President and Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific Region of the company. This would take effect from 1st January, 2018. He is going to succeed Supratim Bose as he retires at the end of this year from his post of president and executive vice present for Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific (AMEA) regions.
According to the company release, Mr. Wang is going to be a member of the executive committee of Boston Scientific and he is going to be responsible for overseeing the continued growth of the company in the Asia Pacific Region. The year 2012 was the start of Warren Wang’s journey in Boston Scientific. He joined the company as the Managing Director and President for China. Currently he is the Managing Director and President of the North Asian Region of the Firm that includes, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China.
Boston Scientific Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, Mike Mahoney said that the complexities and opportunities of the healthcare market of Asia Pacific are offering new alternatives and inroads into the advancement of medical technology that is appropriate to the Asia Pacific market and also to higher quality of care. He feels that the experience of Warren Wang and his keen sense of development of new and improved business collaborations has had a strong influence on the North Asian growth and that same would be seen in the Asia Pacific Region under him.
According to Mahoney, Supratim has been significant in the exponential growth of the firm in the AMEA region over the last five years.
Wang, before joining Boston Scientific, held important roles in Johnson & Johnson’s medical device businesses that include being the GM of Orthopedics Group in China and other leadership positions in orthopedics and surgical franchises of the company.
